A commission for the renovation and expansion of an existing house in Pittsford, NY.  The relative impermanence of the 75 ton white vinyl-sided 2000 SF frame construction was balanced with a new 75 ton tube of black polished concrete.  This concrete addition rests on two existing parallel foundation walls and cantilevers into and beyond the house.  As a result, it counter-balances the weight, color, structure and permanence of the original house.
Scope: Design, Construction documents, and observation, completed 2002.
Site:  One acre lot in a 1970's subdivision in Pittsford, NY.
